The North Circular: Quality Knitwear Handmade In The UK

By on December 18, 2010

The north circular is more than a highway that crosses north London. It is also a high-end knitwear company founded by super models and supported by knitting grannies.

Models Lily Cole and Katherine Poulton built The North Circular on their ideals of animal welfare and hand-made production. The sheep of The North Circular are rescued from slaughter houses and given a life on organic land in Yorkshire; the wool is locally spun and dyed; the fashions are not knitted on machines, but lovingly hand-knit by a team of skilled women and men; and the whole production system happens within a 120 mile radius along the north circular route – this is local community design at its best!

Check out their online store to see their latest cozy collection. Prices range from £30 to £350.
