Clare Bare Eco Local Lingerie

By on January 7, 2011

If you’re anything like me your super picky and struggle with finding eco-friendly lingerie that’s cute, comfortable and doesn’t compromise your ethical beliefs.

As a strict vegan finding the perfect lingerie has always been a daunting  task for me. Sure buying 100 percent organic cotton is great, but sometimes you just want to be able to slip into that special piece of lingerie that makes you feel sexy on the inside and out.

The dilemma is a lot of designers tend to use silk and most vegans will not wear anything animal related even if the silk was gathered in humane matter.

One great alternative to silk is Bamboo which is naturally antibacterial and can be made to look and feel similar to silk.

Recently, I came across lingerie designer, Clare Bare’s line”Clare Bare” which is based out of Brooklyn, NY.  Bare creates handmade limited additions made from bamboo and vintage fabrics structured to accentuate a woman’s curves.

We love Bare’s supper soft, Bamboo Jersey separates that get us in touch with our whimsical side.

Now is it’s your turn to share with us what your favorite type material you like your lingerie to be made from or tell us who your favorite designer is?
