We recently discovered Suwannagate who is an amazing eco-friendly designer based in Los Angeles.

Originally from Bangkok, Suwannagate studied in both Thailand and Los Angeles earning a degree in Decorative Arts from Bangkoks Silapakorn University and Design & Merchandising from FIDM in Los Angeles. Suwannagate has built up a stellar reputation with her sculptural, 3D approach to her designs. She is known for her handcrafted, nature inspired appliques, all of which are completely handmade making each piece unique and one of a kind! Not to mention she uses vintage or organic fabrics for all her clothing, as well as natural dyes.

From an artistic point of view Suwannagate’s garments seem to almost dance on the runway, flirting with counterparts that have yet to give up their independence.

Her Fall 2010 collection is comprised of dark navy, maroon, and black, with pops of neon yellow and poppy red. It’s elegant and stylish, totally wearable right off the runway. The appliques are tasteful and unique design element, never too bold or gaudy with lovely patterns of bamboo.
