Do you ever find yourself questioning some of the ingredients in the products you use on your skin?

Like the eyes are said to be the windows to our soul, the appearance of ones skin can say a lot about them.

So why would you ever consider buying products with ingredients such as Methyl, Propyl, Butyl and Ethyl (Parabens),Diethanolamine (DEA), Triethanolamine (TEA), Petrolatum, Diazolidinyl Urea, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sodium and Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate just to name a few. I don’t know about you but I can’t even pronounce some of the names of these chemicals that are commonly used in cosmetics and have been linked to causing allergic reactions and may cause cancer from prolonged use. It is a scary thought that the products you are using that you have grown to love can actually put you at risk of developing something as serious as cancer.

A lot of people will tell you that the best way to avoid exposing your skin to anything toxic  is to buy organic when possible. If you are ever unsure of what an ingredient is there are some great websites online such as Skin Deep Cosmetics Safety Database which is very helpful.

Booda Organics is a company with the philosophy “you should only put ON your body what you would put IN your body,” say owner Sheana Pickard.

Pickard and her business partner Tara created the company as a result of desperately searching for a daily moisturizer that contained nothing but real ingredients. They soon realized that unadulterated products can be difficult to find.

Recently the company sent me a sample of their Booda butter to test out. First thing I did was look at the ingredients which are Organic Shea Butter, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil and Organic Olive Oil which are known to  be extremely beneficial to the skin. The product had a soft coco butter scent. The company clams their product is so pure it can be used on any part of the body including the face, hair and lips It is also safe to use on babies and pets too.

I have extremely sensitive skin and chose to try the Booda Butter on my face because the packaging  says the product won’t clog pores meaning it shouldn’t cause breakouts. The Butter comes in a tin and is a solid consistency that melts from the heat of your hands. I put the product on before I went to yoga class, my skin soaked it up right away leaving no oily residue behind. Even after my class my skin wasn’t oily at all if anything it seemed to give my face a healthy glow. I have been using this product for two weeks now and haven’t had to deal with any new breakouts. My skin looks healthy and feels really soft .
