Get Dreamy with MADARA!

Who: The MADARA creators: Lotte, Zane, Paula and Liene, began their organic cosmetics line from “a passion for a natural lifestyle and letting the world know about it; a dream of producing natural and organic cosmetics made in Latvia, our homeland. Today we shape, create and nurture MADARA. MADARA is our story about love towards the place we come from, about good design, high quality natural and organic products and good honest business practice.”

What: MADARA (Gallium mollugo) is a Latvian name for wild madders, one of the most common inhabitants of the Baltic meadows.

Where: MADARA comes from Latvia, a small country in Northern Europe, in the Baltic region, which (according to MADARA’s “about us“) has managed to preserve many unblemished and wild places, as well as a diversity of flowers and grasses. Northern summers are much shorter and harsher and therefore plants are forced to concentrate all of their energy on the short blossoming period to attract bees and continue their living process during the next summer. As a result, at the moment of their collection, the blossoms and herbs, which have grown in these latitudes, are especially rich with active substances and extracts that are used in the production of MADARA cosmetics.

Why: I’ve had the blessing of using several MADARA products everyday for the past week and I’m so excited to share my experiences with you all. If I had one work to describe MADARA it would be: dreamy. From the fluffy, cloud-like deep purifying foam cleanser ($39) to the sweet refreshing cleansing milk ($39) to the softening lip balm ($15.95), you can feel the passion, heart and naturalness that clearly defines this product.

My five year old daughter suffers from chronically chapped lips, and the MADARA lip balm was the first product that didn’t sting her sweet mouth when I applied it. She begs me to put it on her morning and night, specifically saying: “Use the pretty smelling one!” I feel good about it, too, knowing that her lips are being nourished with natural plant vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, bioflavonoids and other biologically active substances.

Another product I’m addicted to is their 3-step campaign against cellulite and stretch marks ($110 for the 3 products). You begin with the firming and toning shower soap, follow with the rich anti-cellulite cream and end with the firming oil. All three products smell of sweet oranges and they even provide a step-by-step massage lesson here.

MADARA produces ECOCERT® certified organic cosmetics. ECOCERT® is the leading European authority on organic certification, and the standards used by prestige organic brands. Its ingredients include biologically certified flower and herb extracts from the Baltic region, as well as other natural substances.
