CELESTIAL COCKTAIL CANDLES

There is a saying that everybody has a story to tell if you just open your heart and listen. Intoxicated Zodiac which is based out of New York was conceived by owner Gwen Sutherland Kaiser is  by far no exception.

Years earlier before Kaiser contemplated opening her company she was given a handmade booklet “THE MARTINI HOROSCOPE” written by her close family friend Nancy.

Time pasted and the booklet was almost forgotten, that was until a devastating fire destroyed her parent’s house in up-state New York. Kaiser and her family lost most of their cherished belongings and two of their beloved pets as a result of the fire. “Upon digging through the rubble, the copies I made of Nancy’s booklet were one of the few things to survive. I took that for a sign (pun not intended, really) and have continued the idea today in the form of Intoxicated Zodiacâ„¢. For this reason, I dedicate this site to Nancy (who has since passed), Pikachu (oreo) and Cutter (tabby).”

Today Intoxicated Zodiac not only honors the memory of Kaiser’s beloved family friend, but facilitates  in creating new memories with her unique collection of Astrology candles based on Nancy’s booklet and the characteristics of each individual zodiac sign.

Kaiser is a kind hearted individual who is very passionate with everything she embarks on whether it is working as a mixologist at the Brotherhood Winery (Founded in 1839 by Jean Jacques, the winery is oldest in the United States. In 1921, Louis Farrell purchased the winery which was one of the eight wineries allowed to operate legally during prohibition because he solid the wine for ceremonies. ) or living a vegetarian environmentally friendly life style.

Intoxicated Zodiac candles are made of 100 percent soy wax making it  beneficial to the environment because it is considered to be ‘clean burning’ and contains no petrol-carbon soot which can blacken walls. Soy wax candles will last longer than beeswax candles when you burn them and are also biodegradable. Products in this line include Celestial Cocktail Candles, Shotglass Travel Candles, Marriage Sign Cocktail Infusion Kit, Birth Sign Mocktail Candle and Jute Bag just to name a few. The glass the product comes in make a great keepsake and can be reused as a drink glass. The packaging is environmentally friendly too. The best part is Intoxicated Zodiac donates a portion of the proceeds to various animal rights charities.

A few weeks ago Kaiser sent me some samples from her Intoxicated Zodiac collection that included a bag made from Jute that coincides with her product line. The first thing I noticed was how amazing the candles smelled and the glasses are very durable. One thing I was happy to find out is the jute bag Kaiser carries is made in the U.S. and was a lot bigger then I expected making it  perfect to use to run errands. One thing I should mention is  jute doesn’t tend to hold up well when it gets wet so I would avoid using it on a rainy day.
