Seed Bombs from Greenaid Creates Beauty in any Bare Spaces

By on May 5, 2011

This year I wanted to do something different for Earth Day besides planting a tree which is a tradition my father got me into as a child when we lived in up-state New York.  The timing seemed perfect when I stumbled upon Seed Bombs by Greenaid.

Seed bombs are made by hand in Culver City CA using local materials such as a mixture of clay, compost, and seeds that come in a sustainable package.

Greenaid created the product in a working  partnership with Chrysalis, a local non-profit, Commonstudio which offers employment opportunities to formerly homeless or economically disadvantaged men and women from the Los Angeles area.

What attracted me most to this product is that it is fun. Seed bombs are about the size of a gumball which makes it perfect for little hands or adults who want to make a difference in their community’s landscape.

Greenaid makes guerilla gardening efforts more accessible to everyone by distributing their  product in a quarter operated candy machine. The idea behind it is make a wonderful yet meaningful contribution to the beautification of your city.
