Now a days there are so many different skincare products on the market it’s hard to know which ones are right for your particular skin type and the task in itself can even seem overwhelming at times. During the summer just like the weather our skin too can be unpredictable. Below is a list of some of my favorite products that will solve various skin issues and of course just like putting on your seat belt before you start your car don’t forget to protect yourself with sunscreen before you step outside.

BECAUSE- Moisture Retaining Hand and Body Scrub

BECAUSE is a skin care product line geared toward pampering the body with pure  high grade  natural ingredients that are formulated  without parabens or other irritating chemical preservatives. The company packages all of their  products in opaque  impact resistant plastic containers to protect them from light exposure in order to maintain the integrity of their Botanical formulas.

This is one of my favorite sugar scrubs because I can always count on the product to make my skin silky soft. I use it on the days I want me time and want to give my skin a little extra TLC whether it is in the shower as a body scrub or on my hands after a long day typing on the computer. The key ingredients in the scrub are Black Currant Seed Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil and Raspberry Seed Oil which have all been proven to be beneficial for healing and proving moisture to dry skin. What I love most about this product is if your skin is dry or looking dull it will bring back its natural glow. BECAUSE also makes a great body wash to help clear up troubled skin.

Stem Organics - Balancing Face Fluid

Stem Organics is a great company based in Australia that has the philosophy that the best skincare you can get is created with skin, health  and life in mind.  The company replaces the harsh and potentially ageing chemical ingredients traditionally found in skincare resulting in a highly effective organic and natural alternative. Stem Organics is a  worry free product line  because you will never see ,Petrochemicals, GM ingredients, Parabens, Sulphates, artificial coloring  and artificial fragrances in their product.

This is a great product to use if you have sensitive skin and find that your face is a little oily or breaking out during the hot summer months. Balancing Fluid is light weight and feels soothing on the skin. What I found to be most appealing about this product is it reduces oiliness and shine in addition to promoting the healing of blemishes and helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  This moisturizer has so many skin healing benefits that it makes it hard not to want to give it a try.

TATA  HARPER – Resurfacing Mask

TATA HARPER Skincare was founded by Tata Harper in Vermont. All products are a 100 Percent natural and produced at Harper’s 1,200 acre farm where all research and development, formulations, packaging, marketing and distribution are done in-house.  The company believes that women no longer have to sacrifice their health to look and feel beautiful.

I love this mask for so many reasons.  The big reason is four months ago I went off  prescription acne medicine and my skin broke out and then scared really bad. This mask played a key role in calming down my skin and restoring its natural glow.

Perfect Organics – Mandarin Chocolate Shea Butter

Perfect Organics is a vegan company that is committed to creating wholesome organic, multi-use products for men, women and children.  The company believes that what you put on your skin has to be perfect since it is absorbed directly into your skin. With Perfect Organic products you will never find chemical additives and artificial ingredients.

This is a great product to use on dry skin such as your feet, elbows or hands. It not only smells yummy but is very effect food for your skin.  I have been a big fan of using shea butter ever since I used it on one of my tattoos several years ago.

Stark Skincare- VEGAN Hydrate, soothe, refresh with Neroli and Aloe

Stark Skincare was established in 2010 by Vancouver native Jessica Lafleur, Stark products are all natural, mostly organic and fair trade. Most of the products are multi- tasking and not complicated to use.

I use this just about every day because it is so versatile, I love the smell of the Neroli on my skin. Although on the website it is listed as a toner it can be used as a body spray. I use it on top of my lotion as a light fragrance when I don’t feel like wearing perfume or  I spray it on  after a yoga class when I want to feel refreshed. What I also like about this product it only has a few ingredients and it works wonders on sensitive skin.

Pai Skincare- Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate™ Oil

Pai Skincare was launched in 2007 by Sarah Brown, this West London company’s product line focus on sensitive, allergy-prone skin. Pai uses only organic naturally-derived ingredients that are approved by the Soil Association. All packaging is recycled and the company believes in testing their products on humans not animals. Pai was also the first company to ever have been accredited by The SEE Companies kitemark which recognizes the company’s social, ethical and environmental credentials. The people that work at this company are very approachable and willing to answer any question you might have.

Four months ago I went off prescription acne medicine, I waited four months to use this product because I knew going off the medication would throw off my whole system making this product not as effective. This is my secret weapon to beautiful clear skin. Before I started using the rosehip oil I had bad scaring all over my face and shoulders three weeks later  after using it my skin has calmed down considerably and you would never know I had scaring at all. What makes this product effective is their use of Rosehip Oil.

Prem Soaps- Lip Balm

Prem Soaps is an all natural, organic, cruelty-free, vegan company based out of Brooklyn, N.Y. that was started by three friends Juliet, Rob and Michellle.  Although fairly new the company has quickly gained a following by those who want high-quality vegan products that pamper the skin and are made with love.

This is my all time favorite lip balm/gloss to use because it makes my dry lips so soft. The product goes on smooth without feeling greasy but gives my naturally red pigmented lips a really nice glossy shine. Since I started using it I find I’m not wearing lipstick as much anymore. What also makes this balm a wonderful choice to use on your lips during  the summer is that its incredibly soothing and keeps your lips moisturized all day.

Hurraw!- SPF 15 Sun Balm

Hurraw! is based  in Whitefish, Montana. The company was conceived  by a husband and wife team that were  passionate about wanting to create the perfect lip balm that is all natural, vegan, made from premium raw, organic and fair trade ingredients with no artificial flavoring.

Yes, your lips need protection from the sun’s harmful rays too. If you know you’re going to be out in the sun this is a great natural lip balm is very effective in protecting your fragile lips with an SPF 15 but it smells yummy too.

KOR-Delta Hydration Vessel

KOR is a company that produces fashionable water bottles in a range of styles. The company has the goal of perfecting the reusable bottle. KOR is an avid supporter of charities such as Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, The Wetlands Initiative, Container Recycling Institute and Blue Planet. The company donates 1 percent of all sales to these non-profits that focus on water-related issues. KOR strives to create a great product while engaging customers on environmental issues such as recycling, watershed protection and the global water crisis.

One of the best things you can do for your body is drink plenty of fluids and this especially goes for the summer months when it is easy to get dehydrated. Drinking water is one of the best secrets to having clear beautiful skin because it flushes the body of toxins. I never leave home without KOR’s Delta Hydration Vessel. What I like about this bottle is that it is fashionable, holds up well, easy to clean, has a latch that locks the cap so you don’t have to worry about any liquids spilling out and it has a cushioned base which prevents the bottle from moving around. I usually fill this bottle with water or tea that I let chill for a little while before I pour it into the bottle so it doesn’t crack.
