Okay I confess I’m guilty of having about three different soap bars in my shower at one time. The soap bar I choose to use depends completely on the mood I’m in and how I feel physically on that particular day. However finding a soap that smells yummy can be a challenge in itself and like food when you look at the ingredients on the back of the box you don’t want to be overwhelmed with an ingredients list that you can’t even pronounce the names. Yes like food you have to be cautious of hidden synthetic and animal ingredients that will play more of a role in irritating your skin than helping it.
As someone who has sensitive skin and suffers from eczema from time to time I compiled a list of my favorite brands of soap.
Moksa Organics: Abbey Road
Moksa Organics is one of my favorite companies to purchase body products from for so many reasons. One of my main reasons is the owners are wonderful people with kind hearts dedicated to creating a great array of soaps and body butters in addition to educating their customers about the various charities they support. When you purchase one of Moksa’s high quality soaps a portion of proceeds is donated to the charity that coincides with it.
Abby Road isa feel good soap that has a delicate blend of English Black Tea, Sweet Orange and Vanilla. This soap is a great mood pick me up and makes the skin feel soft and smooth.
Prem Soaps: Coffee Soap
Prem which translates into love and love is what this company puts into each bar of soap they make by hand in their kitchen. My favorite bar of soap Prem makes is their coffee soap. The coffee used in the making of this bar comes from a local coffee house in Brooklyn. The nice thing about this soap is the coffee grinds massage your skin leaving it soft and skin glowing. Whether you are an avid coffee drinker or not you are going to love the exfoliating benefits of this soap.
Soapwalla: Organic Cardamom Ginger Facial and Body Soap Bar
Soapwalla is a Brooklyn based company that was created by its owner for people with sensitive skin. Soapwalla products are all organic and vegan. Although I do not use this soap on my face every day it is great to use on the days that you are feeling under the weather and just need a pick me up. The soap is gentle and smells great because it contains grated ginger and ground green cardamom. Soapwalla is also known for their amazing vegan deodorant.
Mountain Girl Soaps: Rosemary Mint All-Natural
Mountain Girl Soaps is a company that makes each batch of vegan soap by hand using the traditional cols pressed method. This is a wonder soap to start your day with. What I love is the soap is very lathery and lasts a long time. It is also great to use in the shower if you are stuffy in the morning or have sinus issues, breathing in the aroma of the mint will help relieve the pressure.
Kalliste: Cupcake Soap
If you are looking for a delectable treat that you can take into the bath or shower look no further. Kalliste makes a great cupcake soap made with essence of vanilla and REAL melted chocolate that smells amazing… if only it were edible. The soap not only makes you wish you were eating a chocolate cupcake but has a nice lather that leaves your skin feeling clean and smelling yummy. Kalliste is a New York based company that specializes in making handmade natural organic vegan soap products and body lotion.
