I admit to owning more than a few pairs of oxfords, and it seems as though I could never have enough! That’s why I was elated to discover Osborn Design. Yes, they have a beautiful shoe collection full of oxfords, booties, and more. However, their mission goes beyond creating handmade shoes.
Founded by Aaron and Carla Osborn in 2007, they work with a team of 30 artisan shoe cobblers outside of Guatemala City. Using hand loomed fabrics, fine leathers and cotton, and recycled tires for the heel caps, each pair of shoes is gorgeously crafted by hand (and one-of-a-kind!). Stressing the importance of fair trade as well as fine craftsmanship, this is a wonderful company with a beautiful product that is hard not to love both for it’s aesthetics and the heart behind it.

Take these gorgeous Osborn Classic Corte Oxfords as pictured below, for example. The body of the oxford is actually fabric upcycled from authentic Mayan skirts! I love how colorful and full of life the fabric is and how the handmade feel really shines through. With a simple, classic silhouette these oxfords are a fun mix of culture and style.

Another of my favorite pairs are the leather Osborn Greyci Bootie, a sahara boot inspired classic sure to stand the test of time. These are something I’d definitely feel good about investing in, knowing the message and meaning behind Osborn shoes.
