Epic Timepieces: Will be doing its Largest Water Filter Distribution in Haiti to Date

By on November 22, 2011

Every 19 seconds a child dies of a water-borne disease.

The sad truth is in Haiti, families that have special needs children will simply discard them. This has become a common practice. These children who do not starve  will die of disease.  The Miriam Center who have partnered with Epic, lost 25 of their special needs children within the community in the past two years  due to a variety of different diseases, but mostly from water contamination.

In an effort to stop the cycle of disease, Epic will be conducting their first “Epic Health Program”that  focuses on sanitation, hygiene, cross-contamination and an overview of disease.  The company will also be doing their largest water filter distribution in Haiti during  January 2012.  The company’s primary focus will be on special needs children in the Northwestern Zone of Haiti.

Epic Timepieces was founded by Jeff and Jackie Bird shortly after a trip the couple had made to help with disaster relief in Haiti after the 7.0 earthquake. The Birds’ were moved by what they had witnessed. They wanted to do what they could to help the Haitians that survived the earthquake that were now displaced and were dealing with a lack of food, clean water and medical aid.

“The “Epic Movement” is about changing lives.  Every time our customers check the time on their watch they know that someone’s life across the globe has been changed and potentially saved by their decision to join the Epic Movement,” says Jackie Bird owner of Epic Timepieces.

This weekend Epic will be launching 25 new watch color combos. If you would like to show your love and support consider purchasing one of their wonderful watches.
