It won’t be on your Holiday wish list this year, but get ready everyone - Stella McCartney is launching a line of eco-friendly sunglasses for Spring 2012. The British designer, who is a serious vegetarian and refuses to use leather or fur in her collections, recently revealed that her new sunglass collection will be made from 54% per cent of castor oil, a renewable resource that requires little water and seeds to grow.

“The greatest challenge was the amount of time that was spent on research and testing to get the best quality product possible with the highest performance in terms of resistance, while still maintaining the style and finish we always try to achieve,” said McCartney to WWD.

The year of 2012 is already looking up.
