While ogling over Pendleton’s beautiful wool blankets inspired by Native American traditional textile weaves, I came across a wonderful partnership between Pendleton and Shwood, and this company is a must to check out!
Winner of Dell’s 2011 America’s Favorite Small Business Contest, Shwood is an inspiring company filled with tradition, craft and collaborative community. one This vibrant young company, launched in 2009, handcrafts sunglass frames from sustainably harvested, natural woods found in Northwest forests. Like Pendleton, Shwood focuses on its roots (in their case a bit more literally) and on quality. These splendid, beautifully carved wooden frames hold 100% UVA/UB protection Carl Zeiss lenses imported from Italy. Shwood partnered with Peddleton, another Oregon based company to accompany their Oregon-grown, cherry wood framed glasses with a jacquard storage pouch made of wool woven in Peddleton’s Northwest mill. Check out their unique Pendleton sunglasses here (pictured below). I love the design on the sides!

It’s also worth looking at their full line. Check out the full collection of Shwood glasses.
