When it comes to the clothes I wear, I’m always on the hunt for something unique and environmentally friendly. I’ve never been one to follow fashion trends and view clothing as an extension of one’s personality.  I love to wear tees that have a socially conscious message, you know the ones that  just make you stop and think.  You can image how excited I felt when I found Revenge Is which is really best of both worlds. The clothing line is fashionable yet  incredibly comfortable and geared toward raising awareness about various social issues we face on a daily basis.

Revenge Is was founded by Marilyn Barrett, who is a lawyer-by-day and eco-fashionista-by-night. Barrett was inspired to create a clothing line about the two things she felt most passionate about which are fashion and activism with the goal to motivate people to create change.

What is unique about Revenge Is, the environmentally friendly company’s tees are made from either organic cotton or a blend of recycled plastic bottles and  50% organic cotton which is known as RPET.  The company also uses 100% micro-modal (from the sustainable beechwood tree) and 100% mico-tencel (from the sustainable eucalyptus tree) for some of their tee.

In order to make RPET about 3 to 5 recycled plastic bottles are melted down and processed into the plastic fiber that is blended with organic cotton. The end result is a silky soft tee. What’s even better is the clothing is made in the U.S. and there are no pesticides and less plastic in landfills.

What makes these t-shirts worth every penny is besides looking awesome on just about everyone, the company has a really great positive message associated with each t-shirt. The tees can be washed and dried over and over without having to worry about shrinking, fading or losing their shape.

Revenge Is  donates at least 5% of its net sales to non-profit organizations that help the environment, country and community.

“Eat Healthy Beat Happy” Beets Cloak Tee

The picture doesn’t do it justice, this cloak looks even nicer in person and since the beet is metallic it is great to wear casual or can be dressed up with a  pair of skinny jeans for a night out. Although it is one size fits all which maybe intimidating to some people, I found that the cloak flatters just about every body type.

“Hooo’s next?” Southern White Faced Owl 

I call this my conversation tank because it never fails every time I wear it someone always asks me about the endangered owl on the tank. Luckily for me the company provides its wearer information about the owl. Putting that aside this is such a fun comfortable tank and like the cloak it looks great to wear day or night. Although the weather is still chilly out I have been wearing it with a nice jacket which makes it versatile to wear all year round.

I plan to get the “Veggies are Better” Carrot Racerback Tank and being a strict vegan how can I resist. Unlike the cloak that is made with cotton and RPET, the racerback tank top is made from 100% Siro Micro Modal which is derived from sustainable beechwood and printed with water based inks.
