Creer es Crear is a film based on the Mayan philosophy of awakening the collective consciousness. Produced by Santiago Pando, ex-directior of one of the most successful advertising and publishing companies in Mexico, it explores the lives of artisans in Latin America who “accept the light of creation in their own hands”. After leaving his old life behind, Santiago Pando has been on a path towards creating awareness of the beauty of life and nature, inspiring a change of view for wider humanity.
Among those filmed are architect and artist extraordinaire Memo “Merlin” Siliceo, his late wife Amelia Parra who was known for her talents on the classical harp, as well as Mayan priest Don Lauro. All of them share their understanding and feelings surrounding artisanship and creating with the audience, united in a common vision of following one’s heart in order to live fully.
