Stefanie Lynen is a Brooklyn-based designer who finds inspiration from from a variety of sources: children’s books; wallpaper; and even envelope liners. Her bold and beautiful patterns are the signature of the Winter Water Factory. All items are created from 100% organic cotton and are made entirely in the U.S.A.
Lynen rented a silk-screen studio in 2005 where she began exploring the possibilities of fabric design. The result: a striking print with just the right combination of bold graphics and fanciful illustrations.
Where did she come up with the name Winter Water Factory? Cute story: Stefanie and her sister created the original “Winterwasserfabrik” in Eschweiler, Germany (circa 1980) where they bottled melted snow, labeled it “winter water” and sold it to their parents. Her love of natural creations continues in Brooklyn. She specializes in baby and children’s clothing, but also carries women’s and home goods lines.
