Walleska Ecochicc

Founded In 2007, Walleska Ecochicc is a company that emphasizes community with its earth friendly accessory line made from soda pull-tabs. The owners vision was fuelled by her heartfelt desire to urge and improve Brazilian women’s social economic status by offering employment as well as a creative outlet to them. Wallesta is spread through nearly all of the twelve satellite cities outside of Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, employing between 30 to 50 artisan women. As of 2008, Walleska Ecochicc expanded its production of accessories to the U.S.

The purses and accessories are truly a work of art meant to be cherished and shown off.  Each purse uses many pop tops that are held together by lovely crochet work that would appear to be incredibly delicate. Each purse is fully lined on the inside and the truth is because the crochet work is such high quality it really holds up well resulting in years of use.

                                                                        CoolCorC

Founded by brothers Josh and Larry in 2006, CoolCorC creates versatile products out of cork, which all started with a disposable cork cup sleeve and has evolved into a diverse product line . To this day the company still remains a family owned business.  All products are designed by the husband and wife team Joshua and Jessica who are Architects, and also CoolCorC’s President and Vice President.

I love cork for so many reasons, however one of my biggest reasons is cork is a sustainable resource and a great alternative to using leather. What I like about this company is this line is designed really well down to the smallest detail. You can tell that they are really passionate about putting out a high quality product. The CoolCorC also makes it a priority to educate their clients about where the cork comes from and how it is produced.

Vine Street Market

Launched in 2010 in Los Angles,Vine Street Market, USA was founded by two friends Lara McCaughrin and Christie Little who frequently shopped at local farmers markets carrying what they referred to as boring reusable bags. As a result they decided to create a fashionable reusable bag that catered to their eco-conscious consumer’s needs. All Vine Street Market bags are made in the US with re-purposed fabrics and organic materials that are environmentally friendly.

I really enjoy using the bags from this company when I am running errands or going to the gym because they are eco-friendly and versatile. Calling Vine Street Market reusable bags doesn’t do it justice because they are much more fashionable than the average reusable bag and are  perfect for everyday use.

                                                                 Maggie Bags

Maggie Bags are a green company that believes in creating something new from something that is not being used. Each handbag is made from automotive seat belt webbing that is built to meet government safety standards. The bags are made by a simple cut-and-sew method. According to the company there is no environmental impact with the manufacturing of new material and no need for typical recycling processes. Maggie Bags launched their patented design in the spring of 2009 and is currently available in over 400 stores across the United States.

Maggie Bags is one of my favorite handbag company’s because they are completely eco-friendly and really focus on every small detail in the design of their bags. The company produces a product that is strong easy to clean not to mention a must have accessory that is fashionable and whimsical at the same time which is perfect for day or night.

Cork in as a fabric? That’s pretty awesome. I wonder what it feels like. What’s CoolCorC?
