The statistics on the wastefulness of plastic water bottles is astounding. Simply googling “plastic water bottle waste” gave me over 2 million search results! An article from the Mother Nature Network titled 5 Reasons to Not Drink Bottled Water reports that plastic water bottles produce a shocking “1.5 million tons of plastic waste per year”, in addition to wasting “47 million gallons of oil per year to produce”. Even more frustrating is the fact that, according to the article, “ over 80 percent of plastic bottles are simply thrown away” instead of recycled.
With the growing amount of plastic waste in our oceans and littered all over our communities, the time to make a change is now, especially with these beautiful & reusable options below. I’m currently in the market for a new reusable water bottle and these are the ones on my list:
The BKR (*pronounced beaker) is designed in San Francisco and people rave of it’s sleek, stylish design reminiscent of the famously minimalist and thoughtfully designed Apple products. Each one holds 16 ounces, and it’s made of glass with a silicone protective sleeve. Which color is your favorite? I think I like ‘Julep’ best!

Next up is the KOR water bottle. PVC free, with the durability of plastic (rather than glass) this bottle also boasts a streamlined, sleek look and comes in various sizes. I like their KOR ONE Hydration Vessel.

And last but not least, Jules recommends the Takeya Modern Glass Water Bottle.
